Responsibilities
* Work as one of three engineers in a high‐trust, self‐managing squad.
* Design, build, operate scalable, secure, maintainable solutions aligned with agreed architecture.
* Contribute to planning, estimation and delivery with shared accountability.
* Take operational and product responsibility for your work – monitoring, support, observability, stakeholder engagement and confident demo of outcomes.
* Use AI coding assistants daily to accelerate design, implementation, testing and refactoring.
* Design small agentic workflows to automate repetitive tasks such as test generation, migration scripts, documentation and validation.
* Contribute wherever the team needs you – infrastructure (AWS), backend (Spring Boot, Java21), data (AWS Glue, DBT, Postgres, SQL, Python), AI (AWS Bedrock) or frontend (TypeScript).
* Apply strong software engineering fundamentals and maintain strong engineering judgement.
* Embed DevSecOps practices into everyday engineering – design with security, privacy and compliance in mind, use CI/CD, automation and infrastructure‐as‐code, balance speed with safety in a regulated financial services context.
What you'll bring
* Strong grounding in software engineering fundamentals.
* Experience with AWS (certification highly advantageous).
* Exposure to infrastructure‐as‐code, ideally AWSCDK.
* Backend development and frontend technologies (Java21, Spring Boot, TypeScript).
* Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD and observability.
* Appreciation for security, resilience and compliance in regulated environments.
* Excellent communication, proactive collaboration and constructive feedback.
* Excitement about becoming an AI‐native engineer blending deep foundations with modern tooling.
Tech stack
* AWS (certified), IaC using AWSCDK, Docker, Entra, Cognito, AWS MCPs, cloud‐native architecture.
* Java21, Spring Boot, RESTful API design.
* PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora and RDS, SQL, AWS Glue, Python.
* TypeScript, modern front‐end frameworks and UI development practices.
* AWS Bedrock, AI coding assistants, agentic workflows and automation patterns.
