We are seeking an experienced Underground Senior Mine Planning Specialist/ Superintendent to join our technical services team and support the delivery of high‐quality, value‐driven mine plans.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager – KCGM UG, you will be a driving force behind our underground medium‐term strategy at the growing combined KCGM Underground Operation (Mt Charlotte and Fimiston Underground Mines). You will develop and optimise safe, high‐efficiency mine plans that define our medium‐term success.
Working at the heart of our site‐based teams, you'll turn strategic vision into practical underground reality. This 5:2/4:3 rostered 10‐hour/12‐hour residential/FIFO role promotes a great work‐life balance, being only 10 minutes from your front door to this historic operation.

* Develop underground mine designs and schedules that are optimal and practical
* Produce a practicable medium‐term plan that balances short‐term tactical requirements and long‐term strategy
* Conduct trade‐off studies, optimisation, and scenario analysis to maximise value
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and reserve updates
* Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and company standards
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in underground mining engineer roles post‐graduation, demonstrated underground mine planning, strong capability in mine planning and scheduling software (e.g. Deswik CAD, Deswik Sched, or similar), solid understanding of underground mining methods and sequencing, understanding of geotechnical limitations in design, ventilation design and mine services.
Qualifications: Degree qualified in Mining Engineering (or equivalent). Current unencumbered Western Australian "C" class driver's licence.
Passion for Growth: Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams, proactive, safety‐focused mindset with commitment to continuous improvement.
