The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides clinical leadership and expertise within a multidisciplinary team located at the Launceston Community Health Centre – Satellite Renal Unit.

The Role
* Provide clinical nurse consultancy on all aspects of clinical practice, including renal replacement therapies, and act as a role model and expert clinician in accordance with best practice.
* Provide clinical leadership and coordination for haemodialysis and home therapy nurses in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager.
* Provide authoritative expertise in renal care coordination and identify improvements in care coordination and service accessibility.
Responsibilities
* Consult, refer, liaise and negotiate on complex professional, clinical service and health system issues.
* Apply principles of clinical risk management, quality improvement and nursing research to the clinical setting.
* Make independent and collaborative judgements in a fast‐changing environment.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years' experience in renal nursing, coordination and management.
* Advanced competence in renal nursing and an awareness that ensures optimal patient care outcomes across the health continuum.
* Well‐developed clinical management and leadership skills.
* Effective organisational skills, problem‐solving ability, and expertise in risk management and quality improvement.
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable Criteria
* Minimum of 5 years' renal nursing experience.
* Post‐graduate qualifications in renal nursing or working towards them.
Salary and Benefits
* Annual salary range: $118,297 to $125,543 pro‐rate per annum (12 % superannuation contribution on top).
* Post‐graduate allowance up to 10 % based on qualification type.
* Salary packaging: living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year.
* Benefits include travel and relocation assistance up to $10,000 for interstate appointees, professional development and accelerated pathways, study leave, a fitness passport, and Carer Accredited Employer status.
Employment Details
* Permanent part‐time day‐worker position: 36 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Position based in the Renal Services, Kings Meadow Satellite Unit, Launceston Community Health Centre at Kings Meadows.
Eligibility
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Minimum of 5 years as a Registered Nurse with renal experience.
