Commercial Construction Contracts Lawyer (AU)
Elevate is recruiting Commercial Construction Contracts Lawyers with at least 4+ PQE in Contracts and Construction to join our growing team. These are remote-based positions in Australia and only lawyers already in Australia who have the required experience will be considered.
As a Construction Contracts Lawyer, you will work closely with law departments and their internal business clients. You will provide deal support and participate on projects to improve our customers' contractual infrastructure, workflow, and processes. You will work independently on assigned matters, but also work collaboratively with other members of the Elevate team and Elevate service lines, as well as the customers’ in-house teams.
Specifically, you will
* Review construction contracts and negotiate acceptable alternatives, working from templates and tools that you will help create.
* Facilitate escalation and resolution of contract issues.
* Update or draft templates, negotiation playbooks, and other contract infrastructure tools.
* Capture various pieces of information related to the contracts or matters that you support.
* Participate in or manage customer projects to improve contracting efficiency, cost effectiveness, and knowledge sharing.
* Create reports and make presentations to customers and internal colleagues.
* Participate on task forces that strive to improve how Elevate services its customers and that enable our team to develop and grow.
Experience
* 4+ years of PQE legal practice with at least 3 years of experience with commercial construction contracts support, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating.
* Experience with construction agreements is required.
* Experience conducting simple to complex legal research and memorandum drafting.
* Excellent track record in previous client support/customer service engagements.
Technical Skills
* Microsoft products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
* Experience with contract management, reporting, or workflow software tools.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's law degree required.
* Only lawyers currently in Australia will be considered.
