Disability Support Worker
Location: Wallsend & Newcastle Region. This is a casual role. Must have a full NSW Drivers Licence and comprehensive insurance. Personal care is required and you must be confident providing it. Shift options: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am. Minimum 2+ years experience.
Responsibilities
* Support daily living skills including cooking, domestic tasks and social skills
* Provide personal care (showering, toileting, feeding, dressing)
* Mentor customers to explore interests, hobbies and cultural activities
* Assist with community participation and recreation programs
* Administer medication safely following support plans
* Complete transparent & factual handover notes and incident reports
* Offer support in home and community settings
* Use diabetes knowledge and PEG feeding skills if required (training ideal)
Qualifications & Requirements
* Availability mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, sleepovers, & awake shifts
* Experience escalated behaviours following behaviour support plans
* Strong communication skills (verbal & non‐verbal) with customers
* Strong computer skills essential for daily documentation, reporting and communication
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain
* Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003
* Qualifications in Disability or Community Services are an advantage
* Full NSW Drivers Licence and comprehensive insurance
* Confidence providing personal care
