About Byron Central Hospital Byron Central Hospital is a key facility in the Byron‑Tweed region, providing comprehensive emergency, outpatient, allied and mental health services. It focuses on community engagement, preventative health and offers on‑site staff facilities.
Primary Purpose The primary purpose of the Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in the Emergency Department is to provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment. This position will provide experience in a critical care environment and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and experience commensurate with the essential requirements for the role.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
Effective participation as part of a multidisciplinary team, with understanding of the roles of doctors and other members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members and team.
Organizational and time‑management skills, able to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self‑education.
