As a Security/Orderly Officer, you'll contribute to the smooth operation of the Health Unit – where your professionalism and compassion help ensure every person feels protected and cared for.
About the Role:
As the Security/Orderly Officer, you'll deliver a combination of security and patient care services that support the effective, efficient, and safe functioning of the health unit. You'll assist clients with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring their safety and wellbeing in line with hospital policies and procedures. A key part of your role will involve responding calmly to challenging situations, including assisting with the de‐escalation of aggressive or agitated behaviour to maintain a peaceful and safe environment. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you'll use sound judgement, clear communication, and the correct methods and equipment to uphold the highest standards of safety, dignity, and care for all.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver a combination of security and patient care services that support the effective, efficient, and safe functioning of the health unit.
* Assist clients with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring safety and wellbeing in line with hospital policies and procedures.
* Respond calmly to challenging situations, including de‐escalation of aggressive or agitated behaviour.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, using sound judgement, clear communication, and correct methods and equipment to uphold safety, dignity, and care standards.
What We're Looking For:
* Current South Australian Security Agent Licence.
* Demonstrated experience in security roles.
* Experience dealing with a wide range of people, including de‐escalation of violent, aggressive, and/or agitated individuals.
* Experience with computer packages, e.g. Microsoft365.
* Demonstrated judgement and initiative in day‐to‐day execution of a position.
