Job Title: Satellite Network Operations Specialist
Description:
This role supports the lifecycle management of the Bureau's integrated Satellite and Space Weather Networks, which include satellite ground stations and terrestrial space weather observation instruments located across Australia, Antarctica, and the Pacific region.
The incumbent will assist with development of asset renewal plans and project proposals, risk and contract management, and other network support activities as required. This is essential to ensure the provision of reliable satellite data critical to numerical weather prediction, forecasting, and warning services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analysis and reporting on asset performance
* Improving asset information in the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS)
* Lifecycle and configuration management
* Project support activities
* Managing maintenance regimes in EAMS to facilitate effective tracking and improvement of maintenance activities by technical staff
* Providing technical support, including maintenance and repair activities and documentation
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of satellite operations and space weather, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience working with enterprise asset management systems.
