Description
The City of Brisbane is currently recruiting certified Swim Instructors for our beautiful outdoor aquatic facility. Swim Instructors instruct organized aquatic safety and swim classes with the safety standards and procedures set by the American Red Cross. Swim Instructors may also serve as Lifeguards (if certified), whose duties include patrolling and watching the activities in and around the community swimming pool, enforcing regulations to prevent accidents, and rescuing swimmers in distress. SALARY AND HOURS: $20.61– $21.64– $22.73– $23.87– $25.06 per hour (Part‐time position – No other benefits are offered. Initial appointments are generally made at the first step of this five‐step scale). Hours will range from 20‐40 hours per week.
Ideal Candidate
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education – Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is desirable. This provision may be waived for applicants 15 to 18 years of age with the ability to obtain a valid work permit or have worked for the City of Brisbane for at least 1 year.
* Experience – Previous experience as a lifeguard or swim instructor at a pool or open water area is desirable.
* Special Requirements – Current Lifeguarding, Water Safety Instructor, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificates are encouraged.
