Overview

San Clemente Catholic College Mayfield is seeking a Permanent Full‐Time Leader of Learning – Wellbeing & Engagement to join the team from January 2027.

San Clemente is a Catholic school in the Dominican tradition offering Stage 6, with the first Year 12 cohort in 2027. The school is committed to the holistic development of its 730 students across years 7‐11, providing strong pastoral care and student‐centred learning that addresses academic, spiritual and wellbeing needs.

Responsibilities

* Ensure the highest standards of student wellbeing and learning engagement.
* Establish and maintain a culture of care and provide proactive support for students and families.
* Collaborate with Leaders of Learning to develop and implement quality learning and wellbeing programmes that support engagement and learning outcomes.
* Foster a culture of collaborative and reflective practice.
* Support individuals in identifying new experiences for their continual professional development.
* Promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence‐based learning and wellbeing principles, including digital learning.
* Ensure ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact student learning outcomes.
* Acknowledge and comply with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

Skills and Experience

* Practising Catholic with a clear understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church.
* Comprehensive understanding of evidence‐based engagement and learning principles and demonstrated ability to effectively utilise data to optimise educational outcomes.
* Proven success in creating and leading effective learning experiences and building the capacity of teachers as leaders of student engagement and wellbeing.
* Deep knowledge of wellbeing programmes, practices and strategies to enhance the social and emotional growth of students.
* Demonstrated capacity to ensure a culture of continuous improvement, strategic thinking and support the Principal in leading the school's mission.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and develop respectful relationships within and beyond the school community.
* Prior leadership experience (desirable).

Qualifications

* Four‐year trained teacher classification and at least four years of successful teaching experience consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* NESA Teacher Accreditation.
* Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
* Completion of anaphylaxis training.
* Postgraduate study in education (for example, a Master of Leadership, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing) – desirable.

Conditions of Employment

Salary is in accordance with the New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
