The Indigenous Education Foundation (IEF) is proud to support Milingimbi Outstations Progress Resource Aboriginal Corporation (MOPRA) through an in‑kind collaboration, assisting with the recruitment of a dedicated volunteer Remote Supplies Coordinator based in Darwin.
This hands‑on role is vital to MOPRAs operations ensuring essential supplies are collected and delivered each week for transport to Milingimbi via the Sea Swift barge. The volunteer will spend approximately 6-8 hours per week collecting pre‑purchased items from local suppliers around Darwin and delivering them to the barge depot.
All approved expenses, including fuel costs, will be reimbursed by MOPRA. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys being active in their community and supporting practical, on‑the‑ground work that enables key services in remote areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up pre‑purchased supplies from various suppliers and stores around Darwin
- Deliver supplies to the Sea Swift barge depot for transport to Milingimbi
- Communicate regularly with the MOPRA coordination team regarding schedules and deliveries
- Maintain simple records of collections, deliveries, and reimbursements
- Represent MOPRA in a friendly and professional manner when liaising with suppliers and partners
Who We're Looking For
- Reliable, organised, and community‑minded
- Holds a valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle (fuel reimbursed)
- Confident navigating around Darwin and managing small logistics tasks
- Good communication and time management skills
- Able to commit around 8 hours per week, on a flexible schedule
