About the Role
We are seeking a hands‐on Test Engineer to support software verification, validation, and assurance activities within a complex and highly regulated environment.
This role is focused on developing test procedures, executing software and system tests, supporting demonstrations, analysing results, and producing test reports. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure software solutions meet functional, performance, and acceptance requirements.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being actively involved in testing and delivery rather than operating in a purely strategic or management capacity.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop test procedures, test cases, test scripts, and supporting documentation.
* Execute functional, integration, system, and acceptance testing activities.
* Support formal test demonstrations, trials, and acceptance events.
* Analyse test outcomes and identify defects, issues, and areas for improvement.
* Produce test reports, verification reports, validation reports, and supporting evidence.
* Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and test outcomes.
* Work closely with software engineers, systems engineers, and project teams to support delivery objectives.
* Contribute to defect management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
Skills & Experience
* 3‐5 years' experience in software testing, verification and validation (V&V), systems engineering, quality assurance, or test and evaluation environments.
* Experience developing and executing software test procedures and test cases.
* Understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and test lifecycle activities.
* Experience supporting demonstrations, trials, or acceptance testing.
* Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Current NV1 Security Clearance.
* Experience with test management, defect tracking, or requirements management tools.
* Exposure to test automation frameworks or automated testing practices.
* Defence, Government, healthcare, medical technology, or other highly regulated industry experience.
* Exposure to clinical systems or environments.
* Understanding of systems engineering, software assurance, or V&V methodologies.
Ideal Candidate
You are a practical, delivery‐focused Test Engineer who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the work. You can prepare test procedures, execute software testing activities, analyse results, investigate defects, and produce quality reports with minimal supervision.
You take ownership, pay attention to detail, and enjoy working closely with technical teams to ensure software and system solutions perform as intended. This is a role for a doer who likes being close to the testing and delivery effort.
All applications should include your resume as a Word document.
