Overview
We are now seeking an experienced Chef to join our team full time. This role supports the Head Chef across daily operations and service, ensuring consistency, quality, and a positive team culture.

Responsibilities
You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and lead the team during busy service periods. This position includes responsibility for:
- Acting as second-in-charge to the Head Chef across all kitchen operations.
- Leading evening service, ensuring smooth coordination and consistent food quality.
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to venue standards.
- Supporting daily prep schedules, stock rotation, ordering, and recipe consistency.
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, WHS compliance, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising junior staff.
- Contributing to menu development, seasonal updates, and daily specials.
- Ensuring accurate food labelling, storage, and allergen management.
- Promoting teamwork and strong communication with Front of House.
- Ensuring the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and organised for the next service.
- Confirm all food and ingredients are properly labelled, stored, and secured.
- Dispose of all waste correctly using the designated industrial bins.
- Verify that all equipment, fridges, and freezers are turned off or secured as required.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for a dedicated Chef who is passionate about quality food, calm under pressure, and committed to high standards.
- Certificate III, IV, or Diploma in Commercial Cookery (SIT30813 or equivalent).
- Victorian RSA (preferred; required for evening/private functions).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar fast‑paced kitchen.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team.
- High attention to detail and consistent presentation.
- Positive attitude and passion for hospitality.
