Job Description
As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the business, providing practical, commercially focused advice on employee and industrial relations matters.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing ER/IR advice and coaching to leaders on grievances, disputes, performance and workforce planning
* Supporting and participating in enterprise agreement negotiations across national operations
* Interpreting enterprise agreements and employment legislation, recommending compliant and pragmatic solutions
* Conducting workplace investigations and delivering clear, evidence‐based recommendations
* Developing, reviewing and updating ER/HR policies to ensure consistency and compliance
* Managing relationships with unions, regulators and external stakeholders
* Monitoring case law and legislative changes within the Australian IR landscape
* Partnering with HR and business leaders on strategic projects and process improvements
* Supporting audits and ensuring ER matters are managed within governance frameworks
* Contributing to a culture of fairness, accountability and high performance
The Successful Applicant
You're a confident, commercially minded ER professional who thrives in complex, fast‐paced environments that brings:
* Tertiary qualifications in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Law or a related discipline
* Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment legislation
* Proven experience in a unionised, large‐scale organisation
* Hands‐on experience interpreting enterprise agreements and supporting bargaining processes
* Demonstrated capability conducting investigations and managing disputes
* Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills
* Strong analytical, written and verbal communication abilities
* A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with high attention to detail
