Safety, Health & Environment Business Partner
About the role: We are looking for a Safety, Health & Environment Business Partner to join the supportive team on a permanent, full‑time basis. Reporting to the Head of Safety, the role supports the GM - Northern Region and leadership teams with advice, coaching and technical support to continuously improve business processes and workplace health and safety. The role conducts independent reviews of risk, internal control and related matters, including implementation of the Elders Safety Management System and supporting programs in assigned business units. It will support the NSW branch network and our corporate teams in the NSW Head Offices. Regular planned travel across NSW will be required to respond to incidents and deliver support and coaching. Ideally based out of Dubbo, but may be based at any location across Northern/Central NSW.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Safety to plan and conduct an internal review of systems and procedures
- Incorporate risk controls and other internal controls & reviews for both WHS and Environmental compliance
- Develop and communicate the required safety policy and procedures
- Provide expert advice, engage, influence, coach and mentor key stakeholders and delivery partners to drive desired WH&S; behaviours and performance outcomes
- Lead and drive exceptional performance through fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture
- In consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation, lead the establishment, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the safety and environmental risk management framework
- Assist and facilitate H&S; risk management training, education and in‑field coaching to raise awareness of responsibilities and build capability in effectively implementing the requirements of the H&S; risk management framework
Qualifications
- Relevant education in Safety Management
- Possess knowledge of, and be able to interpret relevant Safety legislation, policies and processes
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate complex concepts into simplified language
- Have a strong bias for action with the ability to execute effectively
- Be a people‑centred person who understands how change is delivered through effective engagement and relationships
- Previous knowledge of chemical safety management (desirable)
