Responsibilities
* Respond as part of a fire crew to fire, road crash rescue/entrapments, technical rescues, hazardous material and other emergency incidents.
* Operate emergency response vehicles and equipment safely, driving fire appliances and other vehicles as required.
* Provide first aid and resuscitation where required.
* Maintain QFD equipment, resources and facilities for constant operational readiness.
* Undertake operational duties within the five roles of Operations Management: research and information, risk reduction, readiness, response, recovery.
* Promote community awareness in fire prevention, supporting community education programs and activities.
* Assist with inspection of property, buildings and emergency response equipment, and aid development of evacuation plans and procedures.
* Communicate effectively within the workplace, with other emergency service personnel and with community members.
* Develop and maintain competencies per QFD, pursue relevant training, participate in tactical, operational and technical functions.
* Undertake administrative duties and contribute to station records, health policies, team activities, code of conduct compliance, WHS, and corporate governance.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Valid Blue Card with supporting evidence.
* Manual Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence.
* Current Apply First Aid Certificate.
* Current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate.
* Compliance with QFD medical and fitness standards.
* Criminal History Check.
* Clinical Psychometric Assessment.
