Based in western Canada, Ideon Technologies uses the energy from supernova explosions to image deep beneath the Earth's surface. The Ideon REVEAL Platform is a subsurface intelligence solution that comprises proprietary hardware ruggedized for the most remote exploration sites and demanding of noisy in-mine environments, software, integrated imaging systems, and advanced data analysis and interpretation. Using sub-atomic particles called muons to image deep beneath the Earth's surface, Ideon creates high-resolution multi-dimensional models that help geologists identify, map, and characterize mineral deposits and other geological features such as caves and voids. Ideon also offers patented multi-sensor fusion capabilities that enable seamless data collection and integration from our proprietary sensors and third-party data. Ideon's AI-powered workflow transforms the geological model into a high-resolution dynamic Earth model to inform ongoing operations. Our work reduces risk and cost of traditional methods, while saving time, optimizing return, and minimizing environmental impact across the mining value chain. In turn, this is helping accelerate the world's transition to low-impact mining and transform how companies recover the critical minerals required to power the global shift to clean energy – improving peoples' lives and enhancing economic prosperity.
The Role
We are seeking a Business Development Executive who will be responsible for driving growth and delivering against our go-to-market strategy in the Australia & Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
You will report to the GM, APAC and work with Ideon's customers and prospects to understand their business priorities and needs, determine how Ideon can help in meeting those needs, and developing and advancing a commercial solution.
Working in a team setting alongside Business Development Executives and Sales Specialists serving the NAM and APAC regions, you will focus on the following activities:
1. Work with customers to understand their goals and challenges in understanding the subsurface
2. Develop and implement account plans for engaging accounts to identify opportunities, promote awareness of Ideon, influence decisions, sell our products, and negotiate successful contracts
3. Maintain account, opportunity and retention plans for key customer accounts and opportunities
4. Work with both customers and Ideon technical teams to scope out commercial solutions that address identified needs and deliver strong customer ROI
5. Build and maintain broad stakeholder relationships within each of your target accounts
6. Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across your target region/assigned accounts
7. Execute on a well-planned sales motion to effectively advance and close deals
8. Meet bold targets for conversion volume, strategic growth, and other key objectives

Qualifications
Must-haves – You'll need the following to move forward in the hiring process (and be successful in the role).
1. Strong discovery and consultative selling skills
2. Success in selling into complex organizations
3. Success in selling transformative technology in a risk averse industrial setting
4. Ability to engage at both technical and strategic levels
5. Track record of closing large scale deals ($2M+) over long sales cycles (6 months+)
6. Entrepreneurial mindset with a can-do attitude and creative solutioning skills
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to build authentic, consultative relationships with all levels of staff, stakeholders, and clients
8. Highly organized with a willingness to follow a structured business development/sales process
9. Well-developed communication, presentation, and persuasion skills in English at a fluent or professional level
10. Legally able and currently documented to work full time hours in the region.
Nice-to-haves – While it would be nice to if you had some of the below, we're happy to train, coach and share our experience.
1. Education or work experience in engineering, geosciences, mining, or another related technical field
2. 8+ years of experience in sales, business development or strategic account management
3. Experience selling consulting or professional services or a complex highly configurable product
4. Experience in business case development
5. Understanding of general business and financial management concepts
6. A strong active business network across the target industry and region
7. Additional language skills would be a great asset

More Role Details
This role is open to individuals based in Australia and legally able to work in the region.
Remote work : As Ideon doesn't yet have an office established in Australia, this is a remote role. Expectations are that work is conducted from your home office in Australia (we'll provide a laptop and some financial support for peripherals).
Travel : There will be occasional travel to our office during onboarding and periodically, in addition to customer meetings and conferences in APAC as required (25-50% of the time).
Hours of work: 38 hours/week, Monday to Friday, local time. You will be asked to be flexible with your hours due to business requirements and time differences between our office (pacific time), your location, and customer locations.
What We Offer
Salary : The annual salary range for this role, in Australian dollars, is $170,000 - $200,000 + incentive pay.
Ideon's salary ranges are determined by role and level; the range reflects the minimum and maximum new employee salary. It is atypical for a new employee to be hired at the top of the range; as experienced as someone may be they likely won't have the directly related experience unique to working at Ideon. In exceptional circumstances, though, where a person has the knowledge, skills, and experience to exceed those needed for the position, we may consider compensating at the top of the range. In the application process you will be asked to provide your salary expectations. If you move forward in the process, we'll also clarify expectations and provide additional info on what Ideon's total compensation package includes.
