Overview
At the heart of this role is the opportunity to elevate the Customer Engagement product line, ensuring everything works seamlessly in harmony with the broader business. With a strong focus on stability, reliability, and trust, you'll play a key role in keeping platforms running safely and smoothly, always aligned to agreed service standards.
You'll be part of a close-knit Customer Solutions team, co-creating and supporting customer products that deliver simple, intuitive, and meaningful experiences. Your work will directly contribute to helping customers feel supported and empowered, while also enhancing operational efficiency across Jemena's Gas and Electricity networks.
Working hand-in-hand with business stakeholders, you'll build strong relationships and shared understanding, using agile ways of working to bring the most important priorities to life. You'll be an active voice in a culture of continuous improvement, thoughtfully exploring ways to work smarter, reduce cycle times, and create positive, lasting impact.

A little about you
* Thoughtful approach to designing, developing, and supporting applications, contributing to both new solutions and the ongoing care of existing systems
* Collaborate openly across cross-functional teams and stakeholders, building strong relationships to deliver meaningful, high-quality outcomes
* Ability to provide on-call/after hours support on a rotation basis for 24x7 applications
* Share ideas and insights with confidence, helping to shape solutions that enhance user experience and create simple, intuitive journeys for customers
* Apply a well-rounded understanding of software development practices and delivery frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) to support successful and timely delivery
* Take ownership of system stability and support, assisting users, resolving issues with care, and ensuring applications remain reliable, secure, and performant
* Work thoughtfully with internal teams and external partners to prioritise effectively, manage changes, and deliver well-documented, sustainable solutions aligned to architecture standards
Qualifications / certifications & Skills
* A strong foundation in software development practices, with experience working in Agile environments and a thoughtful, team-oriented approach
* Hands-on experience building modern web applications and APIs, with exposure to frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, .NET or Java
* Confidence working across the full delivery lifecycle, including source control, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and deployment practices
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and databases, with an appreciation for scalable, reliable and well-integrated solutions
* Clear and supportive communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across teams; experience in utilities or a relevant qualification is welcomed
