We are seeking motivated and experienced Emergency Medicine clinicians for Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer positions within the Department of Emergency Medicine at Bundaberg Hospital. This is an opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team in a modern regional referral hospital, while enjoying an exceptional work–life balance in the Wide Bay region.
Your Opportunity:
* Provide expert emergency clinical care and advice to patients to ensure provision of appropriate patient care in the Emergency Department. Provide professional leadership in the area of emergency medicine within a multidisciplinary environment. Provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care team members.
Permanent Full Time (76 hours p.f.) or Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable) and Several Temporary Full Time (80 hours p.f.) and Temporary Part Time Positions (hours negotiable) from date of appointment until 30th June 2027 with the possibility of extension and Casual Positions Available.
Opportunity for Private Practice:
The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals. The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:
* Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways
* Assistance with credentialling and administrative support to commence private practice
* Introduction to local GPs, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.
Qualifications and other requirements:
* Mandatory possession of a Medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential and fellowship of The Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM), as recognised by the Australian Medical Council, including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.
* Specialist Registrants will be preferred in all positions; however non-specialists or overseas trained specialists may be considered where appropriate and significant progression towards fellowship can be demonstrated. Applicants who have completed specialist qualifications but are yet to be registered as a specialist are encouraged to apply.
* All such qualifications should be submitted to AHPRA for inclusion on their website in which case, this will provide evidence of qualification. Copies of the required information must also be provided in sufficient time to enable the awarding of Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) prior to the commencement date.
* All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee. Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. This process must be completed prior to commencement.
