Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our Claims & Legal Services team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Claims & Legal Services Manager - Litigation, this role works both independently and collaboratively with senior leaders, cross‐functional teams, and operational peers to deliver meaningful outcomes for the organisation.
This position is responsible for providing legal advice and claims management services to clients of Miga and supporting the Claims and Legal Services department in general.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality medico‐legal advice via phone and written communication
* Manage a portfolio of claims and notifications in line with policies and authority levels
* Support and represent clients in disciplinary matters
* Engage with clients, legal providers and stakeholders, including attending mediations and conferences
* Prepare reports and conduct file reviews to drive timely claim resolution
* Collaborate with internal teams to assess indemnity and support client outcomes
* Support operations through emergency advice services, data management and compliance activities
* Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to team goals and improvements
What we're looking for
* Degree qualified in Law with a current Practicing Certificate
* Minimum one‐year relevant post‐qualification experience with a law firm or insurance company specialising in personal injury and preferably exposure to professional indemnity or medical indemnity matters
* Desirable: Hold and maintain Tier 2 education level as per ASIC PS 146 Licensing: Training of financial product advisors (Miga will assist in obtaining the qualification if not already held)
