Data Centre Security Officer Job Overview
We are seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team in a Data Centre environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our facilities, clients' data, and assets.
About the Role:
The role involves providing exceptional customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees entering and exiting the facility. You will conduct security screening, monitor alarms, investigate incidents, and maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct security screening of all personnel entering and exiting a restricted area
* Monitor facility alarms and security system Class 5 alarms, Security portal resets, Duress alarms
* Investigate and respond to alarms, first responders to the incident and emergency management including First Aid
* Manage keys/cards, Access Control System and Visitor Management Systems
* Identify prohibited items and prevent them from being introduced to or removed from a restricted area
* Provide complete and accurate shift reports and task handover to Customer Service & Security Supervisor
* Physical (on foot) and Virtual (on CCTV) patrols of assigned areas and report hazards and incidents
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Hold a Valid Security License in respective State (Class 1A or equivalent)
* Excellent communication skills and observational skills
* Customer service experience is essential with strong multi-tasking abilities
* Conflict resolution, negotiation skills and intermediate PC skills (MS Suite) required
* Exceptional customer service standards, greet visitors, and employees and assist as required
* Compliance of all relevant company policies and procedures
* Protection of premises occupants, protection of real and personal property
* Report writing and Site patrol duties and experience communicating via two-way radio
