About the Role

We are seeking a QHSE Advisor to support towage operations in Port Hedland. This hands-on role focuses on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in a dynamic marine environment. You will work closely with towage partners to ensure safe operations, drive improvement initiatives, and manage client-driven administration.

Reporting to: QHSE SuperintendentLocation: Residential in Port Hedland (not FIFO)Employment: Full time or part-time, permanentBenefits: Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and residential allowance for eligible candidates.

Position Overview

As QHSE Lead, you will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with QHSE standards, and supporting operational excellence across marine towage services.

Key Responsibilities

- Promote and improve safety management systems and culture.
- Assist teams in applying QHSE requirements and practical solutions.
- Conduct ISM/ISO audits and safety inspections (including shore-based facilities).
- Carry out QHSE field leadership activities with towage partners.
- Administrative management of the QHSE Management System, the Beacon relevant to the Port Hedland operations.
- Support and lead incident investigations, including report writing and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor and schedule internal and external audits.
- Prepare QHSE reports, analyse trends, and recommend improvements to address emerging risks.
- Support document review processes and ensure compliance.
- Close out actions and audit findings promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Alignment with Rivtow Marine’s values and vision

Essential Requirements

- Diploma in Work Health and Safety or higher.
- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - HLTAID009 or higher.
- ISO and ISM Code Auditor or the ability to obtain.
- Lead ICAM Accident and Incident Investigation.
- Marine or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships and positively influence safety conversations across the business.
- Power BI or other relevant systems-based computing skills.
- Ability to plan tasks and prioritise to meet reporting obligations.
- Thorough understanding of relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Technical writing skills and high attention to detail.
- Hold, or be able to obtain, a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).

Desirable

- Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS) or higher certification.
- Marine-related trade qualification or relevant technical training.
- Experience with shipboard safety practices, vessel operations, or marine engineering (including internships, university projects, or work placements).
- Familiarity with International Safety Management (ISM), ISO, Class, or AMSA regulations.
- Experience participating in technical audits, compliance checks, or safety inspections.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, or involvement in extracurricular activities.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Professional presentation and conduct.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Additional Information
