About the Service
Persistent Pain Service (PPS) is the state's only public interdisciplinary pain service and an ANZCA Faculty of Pain Medicine accredited Level 1 training unit. PPS delivers care through a contemporary biopsychosocial model, focusing on improving function, wellbeing, and quality of life. The multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide coordinated, patient‐centred care through outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary assessments, and group‐based treatment programs, working closely with primary care and community providers.
The Role
Deliver safe, evidence‐based, consumer‐centred clinical care for people with persistent pain using a biopsychosocial approach.
Complete advanced pain‐focused assessments and manage common comorbidities within scope, escalating as required.
Develop, implement and review individualized care plans informed by comprehensive assessment and outcome measures.
Qualifications
* Highly developed contemporary knowledge and skills in persistent pain care or a closely related specialty (e.g., mental health, chronic disease management, rehabilitation, musculoskeletal, palliative care, alcohol and other drugs, primary care).
* Advanced written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with consumers, carers and interdisciplinary teams. Provides consultancy, coaching and acts as a preceptor or mentor.
* Experience planning, delivering and evaluating individual and group education for consumers and/or staff in pain or chronic/complex care settings, using adult learning principles.
Essential Criteria
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
Current Driver's License
Salary and Benefits
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
