We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Assets Maintenance Manager to join our team based in Adelaide on a permanent, full-time basis.
This pivotal leadership role involves the operational planning and execution of maintenance activities across a defined section of our shipyard. You'll lead teams of skilled trades, supervise maintenance supervisors, and coordinate closely with production, engineering, and external contractors to ensure seamless performance of critical infrastructure and assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day maintenance operations ensuring minimal disruption to production
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver both planned and reactive maintenance using our Computerised Maintenance Management System
* Supervise maintenance supervisors ensuring high technical quality, cost control, and compliance with HSE standards
* Manage internal and external maintenance teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Monitor and drive asset performance metrics including uptime, backlog, and response time
* Investigate root causes of failures and implement continuous improvement initiatives
* Collaborate with production, engineering, facilities, and support services
About You
* You're a hands-on leader who takes pride in delivering reliable, safe, and efficient asset performance
* You bring a practical approach to problem-solving and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across shifts and functions
* You'll also possess:
o Significant experience in industrial maintenance or engineering preferably within shipbuilding, defence, mining, or heavy industry
o Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
o Experience supervising trades and coordinating maintenance delivery across multiple shifts
o Proficiency with maintenance planning systems
o A trade qualification or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (required)
o Leadership or supervisory training (desirable)
o White Card and High-Risk Work Licence preferred
o Strong stakeholder management, communication, and organisational skills
o A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
