HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. We’re seeking a compassionate pastoral care volunteer to provide weekly one hour visits with a lovely lady who values her faith deeply. She would enjoy gentle conversation, shared reflection, and the comfort of spiritual companionship. Your visits could include talking about faith, reading together, or simply offering a kind and listening presence. If you feel called to support someone through connection and faith, we’d love to hear from you—your time could bring comfort, peace, and a true sense of blessing each week. You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: * Support people to meet their spiritual needs * Nurture spiritual development Skills required for this role: - High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. - Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.
