**How will I help?**

We have an exciting opportunity for EM Risk & Compliance - Strategy and Products

BTFG is one of Australia's leading wealth management brands. We provide our customers with a full spectrum of wealth services, including investment, superannuation and retirement income products, investment platforms.

The role is accountable for Risk and Compliance, including risk in change, across key business areas where we are providing superannuation and investment products. The role will be primarily accountable for supporting the Product management (Panorama and Asgard platforms), Strategy & Product development and Distribution teams from a Risk & Compliance (Line 2) point of view. The role will sit within the Risk & Compliance team who provides oversight and challenge to the BTFG Strategy & Product businesses and will work very closely with the Risk & Compliance teams who support the Unitised Superannuation business, the Customer Service business as well as the Risk Oversight and Governance team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- 2IC of the Head of Risk Superannuation, Platforms & Investments, supporting them in relation to risk & compliance oversight and challenge for the delivery of the strategic plan for the future state of the Platforms business (this includes distribution as well).
- Support the Head of in engaging senior management consistent with the "three lines of defense" model, providing pro-active, reliable and relevant risk and compliance advice to address business needs.
- Build relationship with key stakeholders, including Chief Strategy & Product Officer, Head of Platforms Product and their direct reports, Regulatory Affairs teams, Head of Line 1 Risk (Business Control Management teams), Legal Practice Leader.
- Assist with the reporting to management and the relevant Board Committees (RE/IDPS & Trustee Board) on the risk profile of the business and / or other significant operational risk and compliance matters
- Oversight and challenge incident and issue management.
- Oversight of the periodic review of the Risk Appetite Statements metrics (Trustee and RE/IDPS Board).
- Lead the identification of risk insights to influence business decisions through industry networking and benchmarking, periodic risk reviews (i.e. Thematic review over areas of concerns within the business), reporting and analytics (supported by the Risk Governance & insight team) and through core risk management processes such as risk profiling.
- Review and support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework across Strategy & Product businesses, in particular in line with SPS 220 (e.g. review of Trustee Risk Management Strategy).
- Oversight compliance assessments undertaken by their direct reports and provide Compliance advice to the business.
- In particular, understand and interpret implications of regulatory changes. The role will play a key role in relation to the new ASIC Breach Reporting Law Reform and will have delegation to make decision in relation to reportability of breaches for ASIC and APRA.

**What do I need?**
- Extensive experience in financial services industry, with a strong understanding of the wealth management risk and compliance environment
- Experience in dealing with, and presenting to Boards and directors, including experience with Board paper writing
- Detailed understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment (Sis Act, Corps Act)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex and senior stakeholders, with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Experienced in managing a team, with strong coaching skills
- Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations underpinning the wealth business, including SIS Act and Corps Act, RG146, RG104, RG105, RG165, Privacy laws and Conflicts of Interest
