Melbourne
Vidico
Editor

Offer description

Are you a Shooter/Editor who ships fast sharp edits and treats new tools as leverage?

Vidico is searching for a Melbourne-based Shooter/Editor to join our in-house team full-time — someone who lives in the cut, is just as confident on set, and brings strong technical instincts to both. You'll work alongside our live action and post-production teams to produce case studies, overviews and pieces-to-camera at volume, without compromising on craft.

At Vidico, we produce stunning creative content for global brands like TikTok, Square, Spotify, and Deloitte. Our videos and campaigns have set benchmarks in the industry, garnering over 1.3 billion views globally.

This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Cremorne, Melbourne studio — five days a week on-site, with our shoot space downstairs and the post team upstairs. Your week will split roughly 60% post (editing and creating variants), 20% capturing content and 20% production planning, gear and tooling.

What will I work on?

* Edit case studies, overviews, pieces-to-camera and supporting content from rushes through to final delivery, bringing storytelling instinct and a strong editorial eye to every cut.
* Handle ad variants, cutdowns, aspect-ratio versions, and platform-specific edits as a core part of the post workflow, efficiently and at volume.
* Be the main videographer on case study, overview, and pieces-to-camera shoots. Must be comfortable shooting solo with a gimbal, an LED panel and a lav or as part of a larger multi-cam crew.
* Approach every shoot with the edit in mind - coverage, sequencing, pacing and interview flow planned from the point of capture.
* Combine live-action and graphics inside Adobe After Effects, exporting assets to meet client delivery requirements.
* Support larger Brand and Campaign productions as a Camera Assistant or Lighting Assistant when required.
* Contribute to production planning and shoot strategy - advising producers on coverage, kit, crew size and approach based on the brief.
* Own Vidico's gear readiness end to end, looking after testing, maintaining, prepping and packing cameras, lighting, and audio for every shoot.
* Bring new AI-augmented production tools (Runway, Higgsfield, Topaz, Descript, ElevenLabs, CapCut) and smarter workflows to the team - not waiting to be shown how to use them.
* Collaborate with our post-production team - editors, designers, animators, and producers - to keep projects on schedule and amendments turned around on time.
* Contribute ideas in post-production meetings, presenting creative thinking and solutions to the wider team.

Skills, Education & Experience

* 3+ years of experience in a shooter/editor or multimedia role, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong storytelling instincts, an eye for the cut and confidence behind a camera.
* A genuine passion for narrative, pacing, and the craft of editing — understanding not just how to edit, but why each edit serves the story.
* Proven experience shooting case studies, interviews, and pieces-to-camera - resourceful by default, comfortable making calls on the day to get the shot with whatever kit makes sense.
* Hands-on proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is essential, with strong working knowledge across the suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects.
* Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is advantageous, whether for colour grading, editing or both.
* Fluent in AI-augmented production tools — Runway, Higgsfield, Topaz, Descript, ElevenLabs, CapCut — and actively looking for ways to compress production time without compromising quality. You see AI as leverage, not a threat.
* Comfortable working at volume - moving fast, shipping consistently, and keeping the bar high across multiple deliverables. You're driven by shipping, not by perfecting a single piece for months.
* Commercially fluent - you understand we're making performance-marketing content.
* Strong attention to detail and consistent, polished outputs across every deliverable - no matter the brief size.
* Demonstrates a strong openness to feedback, viewing it as a valuable opportunity for growth and continuous learning.
* Proven time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines without dropping the ball.
* Comfortable working within a team, flagging issues early, and contributing constructively to the creative process.
