We currently have the need for a highly talented and experienced team player to join our supportive team as a Contracts Manager. This is a project only position based in the Riverina area of NSW and will run for approximately 18 months.
The key focus of the role is to provide commercial and legal oversight of the project, which will see you working with key project and management staff to provide guidance and advice on contracts and matters arising under contract.
Key Responsibilities
Lead contract administration across the head contract and subcontracts
Liaising with the Project Manager, General Foreman and Foreman in regards to all IMS requirements
Preparation, submission and tracking of contract notice requirements
Preparing progress payment schedules & claims / invoices for Clients and Service Providers
Manage the procurement of service provider lettings through the lifecycle of the project
Preparation of subcontract documentation
Monitor project costs, forecasting and cashflow
Preparation of monthly project management report
Mentor and support junior Contracts Administrators on the project
This role represents a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Contracts Manager with a strong Civil Construction background.
To be considered for this role you will:
Have a background in Civil Engineering
Have strong experience with contract management including drafting skills for notices and contractual correspondence
Have demonstrated experience in achieving commercial outcomes
Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and changing project requirements
Have superior negotiation and conflict management skills
Have strong experience in managing contractual disputes
Substantial working knowledge of Australian Standard and general construction contracts used in the construction industry, including alliance contracting
Have the ability to assess and manage risk in a business environment
Have sound knowledge and experience in purchasing and procurement procedures in order to lead the Purchasing team
Ideally you will be degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar, with experience in Contract / construction law.
