About the opportunity
A well‐established, community‐focused not‐for‐profit organisation on the Mid North Coast is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its team.
This is a hands‐on senior role where you will take ownership of financial integrity, compliance and day‐to‐day operations, while supporting a small, collaborative finance team.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager of Finance and Business Support, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting business decision‐making across the organisation.
You will also provide leadership across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and administrative functions, helping build a connected and high‐performing team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing general ledger, reconciliations, and AP/AR processes
* Maintaining balance sheet integrity and delivering accurate month‐end reporting
* Managing BAS obligations and supporting regulatory compliance reporting
* Assisting with external audits and maintaining financial records
* Partnering with operational leaders to support financial understanding and performance
* Leading, mentoring and supporting a small finance team, including cross‐training and coverage planning
About you
You are a technically strong and approachable finance professional who enjoys being hands‐on and working closely with both your team and the broader business.
You will bring:
* 5+ years' experience in accounting, including a senior or supervisory role
* Strong experience in reconciliations, reporting and financial controls
* Proven ability to lead or mentor a small team
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor, SLR highly regarded)
* A collaborative, calm and supportive leadership style
* Accounting qualifications (CPA or CA highly regarded)
* Experience in aged care, healthcare or not‐for‐profit environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
