Volunteer with CareSong Busselton – Bring Joy Through Music!
Do you love music, connection, and community? CareSong Busselton is a warm and welcoming singing group for people living with dementia and their carers — and we need friendly, caring volunteers like you! The group launches 3 July 2025 and meets every Thursday afternoon from 1pm–3pm at the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre (22 Peel Terrace). Singing takes place from 1pm to 2:15pm, followed by a relaxed afternoon tea until 3pm.
* No musical experience needed.
* Volunteer weekly or fortnightly, as suited.
* Be part of a project that lifts hearts and builds community.
Director / Musician
Lead the Session, Set the Tone. Take the reins for a weekly session: plan the set list, coordinate the volunteer roster, and lead the group with music and energy. Basic skills on guitar, piano or similar (just 10 chords gets you far). Bring cheer, guide the singing, prep light rhythm/vocal activities, and make the session flow. Stay for afternoon tea and share the joy.
Musician
Support the Music, Share the Spotlight. Accompany the Director, help lead songs, or take the lead on a few. Contribute to the song list and lift the group with your instrument and/or voice. When no Director is present, you might step into their shoes.
Afternoon Tea Coordinator
Bring the Warmth (and the Biscuits). Team up to provide and serve a welcoming afternoon tea. Make sure there's a mix of sweet, savoury, fruit and gluten‐free options. Set up at 2pm, pack down from 2:45pm, and share the experience over a cuppa and a chat.
Admin Volunteer
Keep Things Ticking. Manage the behind-the-scenes essentials: attendance, payments, badges, new member forms, and reimbursements. Make sure latecomers feel welcomed. Admins also sing and help out during the session.
Singer / Observer
Be Present, Be Kind, Be Aware. Welcome people, help with books and seating, and support those who may need gentle assistance during the session. Be a friendly face, watchful eye, and social companion—especially for people living with dementia. Share the joy of singing while quietly ensuring everyone feels safe and included.
Training & Support Available
