Fuse Recruitment is sourcing experienced Audio Visual Service Technicians for permanent roles based at the client's Greenacre Head office.

Role

The Service Technician plays a key role within the service team, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and installing a wide range of products, including audio, visual, lighting, broadcast systems, control systems and stage machinery. The role is customer‐facing and involves direct interaction with clients and their equipment.

Role Responsibilities

Technical Service & System Support

* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults across audio, AV, video, lighting, staging, broadcast, control systems, and stage machinery.
* Carry out repairs, maintenance, upgrades and modifications to customer equipment on‐site and in the workshop.
* Test and verify repaired systems to ensure full operational performance, including customer sign‐off where required.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
* Assist with AV installations, venue engineering projects and commissioning activities.
* Maintain and service company‐owned equipment and assets.

Field Service & On‐Site Operations

* Deliver professional in‐office technical support across a range of customer venues and locations.
* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
* Resolve technical issues during the first site visit wherever possible.
* Implement temporary solutions to minimise downtime, including removing faulty equipment, patching systems, installing loan equipment and coordinating hire equipment through head office when required.
* Maintain service vehicles, ensuring tools, spare parts and loan equipment are fully stocked and operational.

Customer Service & Technical Support

* Act as the primary on‐site contact for customers, providing professional and solution‐focused support.
* Communicate technical issues, repair outcomes and recommendations clearly and effectively.
* Provide post‐installation, warranty and ongoing maintenance support.
* Deliver remote troubleshooting assistance via phone and other support channels as required.
* Build strong customer relationships through responsive, reliable and high‐quality service.
* Ensure customer expectations are consistently met regarding timelines, communication and service quality.

Documentation & Administration

* Complete service reports, maintenance records and site attendance documentation accurately and on time.
* Prepare detailed post‐service reports outlining completed works, equipment removed, parts required and recommendations.
* Develop technical documentation, manuals and support materials as required.
* Order and manage spare parts to support ongoing service activities.

Safety & Compliance

* Prepare Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for maintenance and service activities.
* Comply with all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies, procedures and safe work practices.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

* Current NSW (or relevant State) Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Satisfactory National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Current unrestricted driver's licence (manual preferred)
* Full Australian working rights
* Current White Card (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Qualifications & Licences

* Working at Heights / EWP certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Disconnect/Reconnect Electrical Licence
* Additional industry certifications in AV, networking or control systems highly regarded

Technical Skills & Experience

* Strong understanding of electronic circuit theory and ability to read and interpret electronic schematics
* Proven experience working with professional audio visual systems, including audio and video conferencing systems, DSP and signal processing, broadcast video systems, sound reinforcement systems, media control and automation systems, AV control systems and networking
* Extensive experience with analogue and digital electronics, components and circuitry
* Knowledge of professional audio, video, CCTV systems and surface mount technology
* Experience troubleshooting and sourcing electronic components and suitable replacements from manufacturers and suppliers
* Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with heavy mechanical and electromechanical systems
* Understanding of audio networking protocols, system integration and acoustic measurement tools
* Competency using Microsoft‐based operating systems, computer hardware and associated software tools
* Strong customer service focus with the ability to deliver practical, client‐focused solutions
* Solid understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) requirements and safe work practices
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
* Excellent organisational and time‐management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Strong written, verbal and virtual communication skills
* Solutions‐focused mindset with strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Proactive, adaptable, and positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop
