Where You'll Be Working
As part of the First 2000 Days Framework, NSW Health and the NSW Department of Education are collaborating to make health and development checks available to 4‐year‐old children. The position is based at Wallsend and will involve visiting Early Learning Centres across the district.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assisting clinicians to conduct health and development checks at preschools.
* Liaising with early childhood education centres, health providers and other external stakeholders to ensure Brighter Beginning services are efficient, proactive and coordinated.
* Traveling within the LHD to deliver health and development checks in target areas.
* Reporting to the Brighter Beginnings Program Coordinator (Allied Health Clinician).
About You
* For appointment at Level 3: have completed a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
* For appointment at Level 2: have demonstrated experience working as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 for at least 12 months, or hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent).
* If the preferred applicant cannot demonstrate the above, they will commence service at Level 1.
* Full NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel for work, including long distance driving.
Support and Development
The successful applicant will be supported by the Brighter Beginnings Health & Development Checks team, including child and family health nursing, allied health clinicians, Program Coordinator, Service Manager and Administration Officers. Training will be provided as part of induction.
