As a WorkPac Health and Social Care Remote Area Nurse, you will be working in a strong Primary Care & Emergency focused Indigenous community.
You will need to work autonomously to complete medications, conduct clinical assessments, emergency response, conduct post trauma/injury assessments and have broad knowledge of men and women’s health and other primary health care services. This is quite an active role with onsite training provided and a great team supporting you on site. WorkPac is ideally looking for Nurses who have worked in a remote/rural setting or have a real interest to expand into this area and serve the local communities.
About the Role
The key purpose of the Remote Area Nurse role is to travel to remote indigenous communities throughout NT and provide medical care within the local areas.
What You Will Be Doing
- Medication administration and clinical assessments
- Emergency response and trauma/injury assessments
- Delivery of men’s and women’s health services
- Broader primary health care functions and health promotion activities
What You Will Need
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Remote Emergency Course (REC – CRANA) or equivalent
- Midwifery Emergency Course (MEC – CRANA) or equivalent
- Immunisation Provider Certificate (Understanding Vaccines & National Immunisation Program)
- Basic/Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS)
- National Criminal History Check (SAFENT)
- Working with Children Check (NT Ochre Card)
- Robust understanding of Indigenous health, rural practice, and cultural safety
