Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Sterilising Technicians (CSSD) to join our team at Epworth Geelong – Waurn Ponds on a casual basis. You will contribute to infection prevention and control and overall patient safety by providing quality reusable medical devices through sterilisation and disinfection processes. You will support the theatre team by collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, testing, packaging, sterilising, storing and distributing reusable medical devices and equipment. You will be a proactive member of a self‐directed and cohesive CSSD team and report into CSSD management.
Responsibilities
* Collect, clean, decontaminate, inspect, test, package, sterilise, store and distribute reusable medical devices and equipment.
* Contribute to efficient workflow through the department regularly and utilise available resources effectively.
* Promote and participate in all required standards, quality activities, policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate III or equivalent.
* Proven experience in CSSD.
* Competence across all areas within CSSD, including scopes and surgical loans instrument reprocessing.
* Demonstrated knowledge in application of infection prevention and control practices as it relates to sterilising services.
* High level of understanding and ability to apply workplace OHS requirements in sterilising services.
* Excellent communication skills with a patient‐centred approach.
* Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to deliver on multiple requests simultaneously.
