This is an opportunity to help care for some of Melbourne's most valued parks, gardens and streetscapes while contributing to a high‐performing and customer‐focused organisation.
About the role
Full time, ongoing opportunity located in Kew. Salary: $71,312 to $76,789 excl super plus 9-day fortnight. In this role, you will support the development, care and ongoing maintenance of Council's parks, formal gardens, streetscapes, carparks and open spaces. You will apply best‐practice horticultural techniques to ensure our green spaces remain healthy, attractive and welcoming for residents and visitors. The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues across Council and engaging respectfully with contractors, community representatives and members of the public.
Key responsibilities
* Maintain and enhance horticultural assets using high‐quality horticultural practices.
* Assess and prioritise work across multiple sites, ensuring all areas meet required standards and maintenance schedules.
* Monitor and operate irrigation systems.
* Conduct site audits, identify redevelopment and planting opportunities, and maintain minor plant and equipment.
* Uphold safe work procedures and contribute to creating a safe, well‐managed workplace.
Employment requirements
Applicants must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia. Those progressing through the selection process will need to complete a National Police Record Check, a Working with Children check and relevant pre‐employment medical assessments.
