About the Role
This is a three-month temporary contract covering a period of leave within our established finance team. The role sits within a team that has strong processes and clear ownership, you'll be stepping into a well-supported environment with a focused remit. The primary focus is supporting month-end reporting and coordinating external audit deliverables. You'll need to be experienced enough to contribute immediately, and comfortable working independently within defined processes. We welcome applications from candidates on skilled and temporary visas.
Responsibilities
* Own month-end and year-end close including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
* Prepare financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards and internal reporting requirements
* Coordinate the external audit process: manage auditor requests, track deliverables, and prepare workpapers
* Support management reporting and financial reporting requirements
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data
* Support AP/AR and general finance operations as required
* Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (highly desirable)
Required Skills
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance, including GST/BAS reporting
* Hands‐on experience supporting external audits and delivering to strict deadlines
* Proficiency in Xero and the Microsoft Office Suite — advanced Excel skills in particular
* Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills (written and verbal)
* High attention to detail and a genuine commitment to data integrity
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast‐paced environment
* A collaborative approach and adaptability to changing priorities
