Position Overview

Investigations and Communications Coordinator – full‐time, fixed term until 28 February 2026 (extension possible). Department: Business Services, Chief Operating Officer Portfolio. Salary: $122,736–$132,847 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities
* Strategic Planning – develop and implement crime prevention strategies to protect the university community and assets.
* Investigations Management – lead investigations into criminal activity on campus and liaise with law‐enforcement agencies as required.
* Event Security – manage security arrangements for special events and VIP visits, ensuring safety while maintaining the university's reputation.
* Training and Development – prepare and deliver high‐quality security training and awareness programmes for university stakeholders.
* Risk Analysis – conduct security reviews and provide expert advice to mitigate risks and threats to safety.
Qualifications and Experience
* Seasoned security professional with extensive experience in law‐enforcement or a similar field.
* Strong investigative skills and the ability to develop strategic security initiatives in a complex organisational environment.
* Substantial senior‐level experience in security management or law‐enforcement.
* Expertise in criminal investigations, evidence gathering and witness interviewing.
* Strong risk analysis and security planning skills for major events.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders and delivering training.
* Experience in developing and implementing crime‐prevention strategies.
* Proficiency in analysing security data and preparing comprehensive reports.
* Leadership ability in managing critical incidents and motivating teams.
* Relevant qualifications in law‐enforcement or security (desirable).
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
* Willingness to undergo a police check if required.
