Position
Casual Learning Adviser – Office of the Vice‐President Indigenous Engagement, CQUniversity. Locations: Bundaberg, Cairns, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Rockhampton, and Townsville (negotiable; excluding SEQ).
Responsibilities
* Provide tailored tutorial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Program (ITAP).
* Deliver personalised academic support to students enrolled in SUN, STEPS, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a range of disciplines.
* Mentor students and strengthen their academic capability to improve learning outcomes and foster a culturally safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Contribute to students' confidence and success throughout their academic journey.
Qualifications
* Completed qualification at the level being tutored (minimum bachelor's degree for bachelor‐level tutoring).
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children Positive Notice) to comply with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
