Senior Spray Painter / Finishing Supervisor Required | Luxury Architectural Metalwork & Bespoke Joinery | Inner West Sydney | $90,000 - $110,000 Super (Depending on Experience) | An established and highly respected luxury architectural fabrication business is seeking an experienced Senior Spray Painter / Finishing Supervisor to lead its finishing division within a high-end manufacturing environment specialising in bespoke architectural metalwork, luxury steel windows and doors, staircases, architectural joinery and premium custom fabrication projects. Operating within the luxury residential, hospitality and commercial sectors, the company delivers architecturally designed projects across Sydney and interstate, working closely with architects, designers, developers and premium builders on some of Australia's most sophisticated projects. This is a permanent full-time leadership opportunity suited to a highly skilled industrial or architectural spray painter looking to take ownership of a dedicated finishing department while remaining hands-on in production. The Role You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the spray painting and finishing department, supervising a small team consisting of 1 other spray painter and 1 labourer, who is responsible for sanding, masking, taping and preparation work. This is a critical position within the manufacturing team, responsible for maintaining the extremely high-quality finishes expected across bespoke architectural products and luxury fabrication work. The role will involve a combination of: Team leadership Production coordination Quality control Hands-on spray painting Process improvement Finishing management You will work closely with factory management, fabrication teams and project delivery staff to ensure all products are completed to exceptional standards and delivered on schedule. Products & Projects You Will Work On Projects are highly customised and architecturally designed, including: Luxury steel windows & doors Oversized pivot doors Architectural glazing systems Bespoke staircases & balustrades Feature metalwork Architectural cladding Skylights & feature structures Decorative steel fabrication High-end hospitality fitouts Luxury residential projects Custom furniture & designer pieces Materials regularly worked with include: Mild steel Stainless steel Aluminium Bronze Timber-metal combinations Powder-coated and specialty architectural finishes Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise the spray painting and finishing department Coordinate daily workflow and production priorities Ensure all finishes meet luxury architectural standards Carry out hands-on spray painting across a variety of custom products Oversee preparation processes including sanding, masking and taping Monitor paint consistency, colour matching and finish quality Manage workshop cleanliness and finishing area organisation Maintain spray equipment and finishing systems Train and mentor junior spray painters and prep staff Work collaboratively with fabrication and production teams Ensure jobs are completed within project deadlines Implement and maintain WHS procedures within the finishing department Assist with improving finishing systems, efficiencies and quality control processes Ideal Background We are seeking someone with strong experience within one or more of the following industries: Architectural metalwork High-end joinery Luxury cabinetry Commercial fitouts Custom fabrication Automotive refinishing Industrial spray painting Architectural windows & doors Bespoke manufacturing Candidates with experience working on premium architectural products or high-detail custom finishes will be highly regarded.
