Job Title: Manager – Private Tax
The opportunity
As a Manager in our Private Tax team, you'll work with some of the most dynamic and influential private enterprises in the market. While many of our clients operate at a national and international scale, they are privately owned—often by high‐net‐worth individuals and entrepreneurial families—giving you direct exposure to decision‐makers and the chance to see the tangible impact of your advice.
Your client portfolio will span high‐growth start‐ups, established private businesses, and complex family enterprise structures, offering variety, pace and real commercial depth. This role moves beyond "business as usual" compliance, partnering closely with founders and family principals to support strategic growth, succession, and long‐term wealth preservation.
This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne. The role can be adjusted for flexible work arrangements and reduced hours where appropriate.
Your key responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of diverse growth clients, including privately owned corporate groups, businesses, high‐net‐worth families, trusts, and other privately owned entities.
* Oversee tax compliance, financial statements, planning, and advisory services for client groups featuring trusts, companies, partnerships, and individuals.
* Work directly with Partners and senior Tax specialists to deliver advice on intricate tax matters such as restructures, domestic transactions, capital gains tax, Division 7A, and specific trust issues.
Skills and attributes for success
* Experience in Tax Consulting, ideally within a top‐tier or second‐tier accounting firm or legal firm.
* Experience managing junior staff and supporting their development.
* Advanced tax technical knowledge relevant to corporate groups, individuals, or trusts.
* Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
* Tax experience, preferably gained in a professional services environment in Australia.
* Excellent client‐facing skills with confidence to lead client meetings and build a network.
