About This Role Brunel International is seeking a skilled Mechanical Supervisor for shutdown activities specialising in general milling/grinding maintenance in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The successful candidate will have proven supervisory shutdown experience and will work on a FIFO basis.
As Mechanical Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate all mechanical maintenance tasks during scheduled shutdowns, ensuring efficient and safe execution of work on SAG and Ball milling and grinding equipment. Your expertise will expand into slurry pump repairs, piping installations, and cyclone maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise operational performance. You will supervise teams, manage contractors, and liaise with site management to deliver shutdown projects on time and within budget while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Proven supervisory experience in shutdown maintenance, specifically in general milling and grinding operations
Strong mechanical background with hands‑on knowledge of slurry pumps, piping systems, and cyclone maintenance
Ability to plan, coordinate, and lead maintenance teams during shutdowns
FIFO availability for Papua New Guinea operations
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with site procedures
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance
Experience working in remote or challenging environments is advantageous
