# Asset EngineerCloncurry Shire Council is seeking an experienced Asset Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Environment team. This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Civil Engineer who is passionate about infrastructure planning, asset management and delivering sustainable outcomes for regional communities.What We Offer:Competitive salary – QLD ( Stream A) Above Award – $115k + SuperannuationPersonal (Sick) LeaveRemote Area Housing AllowanceFive weeks annual leave, with 17.5% leave loading.Use of a pool vehicle during work hoursOpportunities for career growth and professional development.About the RoleReporting to the Manager of Infrastructure, the Asset Engineer plays a key role in the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of Council's asset management systems and frameworks.This position is responsible for:Developing and maintaining Asset Management Plans (AMP) and contributing to the Long-Term Financial Plan (LTFP)Maintaining and improving Council's asset register and condition dataSupporting capital works planning and renewal programsUndertaking infrastructure condition assessmentsProviding specialist asset management advice across the organisationEnsuring compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory, audit and reporting requirementsSupporting annual financial reporting and asset valuationsAbout YouCouncil is seeking a candidate who:Has demonstrated experience in strategic and operational asset management within a local government or similar infrastructure environmentHas experience developing, implementing and reviewing Asset Management PlansHas strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret asset data and inform investment decisionsIs experienced in infrastructure inspection, condition assessment and renewal planningCan provide specialist technical advice to internal stakeholdersHas experience working with GIS systems and asset management softwareCan prepare clear and accurate reports, submissions and technical documentationDemonstrates strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing prioritiesWorks collaboratively and builds effective relationships across departmentsMaintains high attention to detail and confidentiality in handling Council informationMandatory RequirementsDegree in Civil Engineering (eligible for membership with Engineers Australia) with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience will be considered;Current \"C\" Class Driver's LicenceConstruction White Card/30215Blue cardDesirable QualificationsRegistration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) (advantageous), or the ability to obtain with Council supportExperience in local government asset managementProject Management certificationFor a more detailed job outline, please refer to the attached Position Description.Locals are encouraged to apply!
