MARS Recruitment is currently partnering with one of Australia's leading organisations to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer for an urgent contract opportunity.
About the Role
Reporting into the Payroll Team Leader, you will play a key role in the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing exceptional support to employees across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
* End-to-end payroll processing
* Maintaining payroll data and employee records
* Validating and reconciling payroll data prior to pay runs
* Responding to payroll-related employee queries
* Processing employee payments, deductions, and adjustments
* Preparing termination payments and leave calculations
* Conducting payroll reconciliations, including superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax
* Assisting with payroll reporting and audit requirements
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, and payroll processes
* Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Highly Regarded
* Experience within the mining, resources or related industries
* Exposure to SAP SuccessFactors
* Previous SAP payroll system experience
