Opportunity for a System Engineer Manager to join this Adelaide based industry-leading provider for Defence

**Your new role**
Due to an increase in the number of Maritime Projects, there is a need for an additional Systems Engineering Manager to manage and deliver the engineering program for extant/future Maritime projects.
- Establishment and the execution of engineering strategies and associated planning for the project/s for both internal and subcontracted engineering activities in line with the Engineering Policy
- This position will initially be expected to execute the engineering management of a number of Maritime projects, to be determined based on workload and priority.
- Responsible for the definition of the engineering aspects of the Project Work Breakdown Structure and responsibility assignment.
- Responsible for the preparation of estimates for engineering activities and equipment.
- Identification, monitoring and mitigation of technical risks.
- Ensure the project system baselines are maintained.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Five (5) years' defence industry (or allied industry) experience in a Systems Engineering environment including participation in the following areas:
System requirements elicitation;
System design and development activities; and
Engineering management of multi-discipline teams.
- Experience in Naval Combat Management Systems or Combat Systems (desirable)
- Demonstrated awareness and ability to address whole of system requirements and design issues, including safety and ILS;
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to communicate system engineering process and system development lifecycles;
- Demonstrated ability to lead staff within a team environment and to foster cooperation within and between teams.
- Proven ability in internal and external customer liaison.
- Experience in producing and reviewing project documentation.
- Demonstrated scheduling and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
- Well-developed ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Well-developed ability to provide leadership.
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions.
