Position Details
Education Assistant
We are seeking a highly motivated Education Assistant with a desire to be a part of a dynamic teaching and learning community who is passionate about helping children learn in a fun and safe environment.
Experience supporting students with additional needs is preferred but not essential.
The position is TEMPORARY for 5 MORNINGS per week until 31st December ****.
(8 : 20am - 1 : 05pm)
Selection Criteria
Be involved in the Catholic Church and be fully committed to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
Have excellent organisational skills.
Have exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.
Be able to work under the direction of the class teacher.
Have very good ICT skills.
Have the ability to work as a part of a team.
Be enthusiastic, positive with the ability to work with flexibility while demonstrating initiative.
Be able to work Monday to Friday mornings 8 : 20am - 1 : 05pm.
Applicants must have, or have applied for a Working with Children Clearance.
(WWC) and have a current CRIMTRAC 100 point Police Clearance.
Desirable
Have previous experience in working as an Education Assistant would be an advantage or experience in supporting students with additional needs.
Be able to assist with the development of community amongst staff, students and parents.
Have demonstrated the capacity to relate easily and professionally with students, parents and staff.
Have a current first aid certificate.
Qualifications Required
Certificate III as an Education Assistant or Certificate IV in Special Education Support or similar qualifications.
Complete the CEWA online Child Protection Procedures and Mandatory Reporting training.
Acquire and / or maintain relevant Accreditation requirements to work in a Catholic School.
