At The Place, we care more about who you are than how many years you've been doing it. We're building a team of good humans – the kind who are values-driven, reflective, and ready to do meaningful work without the burnout. Whether you're starting out or bringing lots of experience, we'll support you to grow a career that actually fits your life.
What we do
We work across the lifespan, with most of our clients being children, teens, young adults and their families. We support people to build skills, confidence and connection in the places life actually happens — not just on paper, and not just inside four clinic walls.
Our work is practical, creative and neuroaffirming. Think emotional regulation, sensory processing, executive functioning, independence, daily living skills, school and work participation, community access, family routines, and all the messy, meaningful in-between bits of real life.
You might find us in the clinic, in a classroom, at home, out in the community, running a group, completing an assessment, supporting a DVA client, or reaching a family in a regional town who has been waiting far too long for the right support.
We work alongside our Speech Pathology, Family Support and Allied Health Assistant teams to make therapy feel less like a transaction and more like a village.
We don't just hire people – we build with them. Everyone here has a voice in how we grow, how we work, and how we support each other. You'll be genuinely heard, supported, and encouraged to bring your whole self to the role.
We're deeply connected to our local community and love creating opportunities for our team to get involved – whether that's outreach, running a group, leading a project, or co-designing something new. We're values-first, people-first, and proud of the culture we're creating.
If you're early in your career...
We've got your back. You'll have a thoughtfully curated and supported caseload, dedicated supervision with an experienced OT, weekly peer support, shadowing opportunities, and professional coaching to help you build confidence in your own style. There's time to learn here – without pressure to pretend you know it all. We're here for the questions, the reflection, and the growth.
What you'll get
* $110–130k base salary (plus super) – tailored to your skills and experience. We believe in paying our team well to reflect the impact of the work they do and to support rural retention. You're not just filling a role — you're a valued part of something we're building together.
* S-based rewards program — recognizing more than financial performance. We celebrate care, creativity, teamwork, follow-through, contribution, client experience and the way people live our values.
* Relocation bonus + practical support if you're moving to join us (it's a great part of the world to call home).
* Professional development — your learning, your way, with a personalised PD and career pathway plan.
* Flexibility – full-time, part-time, or a schedule that works with your life (especially if you're a working parent – we get it).
* Genuinely family-friendly workplace — we understand kids, caring responsibilities, appointments, school events, sick days and real life.
* Thoughtfully curated and supported caseload — built around your experience, interests and growth areas.
* Support from day one – admin support, AHAs, structured onboarding process, streamlined clinical systems, and an experienced leadership team who has your back.
* Tools and tech you need – including a laptop, phone, iPads, therapy resources, and assessment kits.
* Beautiful spaces to work from – purpose-built therapy rooms and calming outdoor areas designed to support regulation, connection, and creativity.
* Strong team social events and connection — because we like each other, and culture matters.
