We invite experienced mental health clinicians with a background and interest in childhood and adolescent mental health to join our team in Kogarah. The CAMHS service is a specialist unit delivering comprehensive assessments, advocacy and therapy for children, adolescents and their families experiencing emotional, behavioural or social difficulties.
As a Mental Health Clinician you will:
- Deliver outpatient treatment, providing specialist mental health services and tertiary consultation to children and young people in a community setting.
- Facilitate, implement and evaluate care management pathways for patients with complex needs.
- Support service improvement initiatives and lead quality improvement activities.
- Conduct acute/non‑acute assessments including risk assessment and management.
- Provide clinical supervision and deliver in‑depth advice to enhance service delivery.
Selection Criteria
- Professional qualification in Social Work (eligible for AASW membership), Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA, or Clinical Psychology (full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement in Clinical Psychology, or eligibility to progress towards same) plus a minimum two‑year full‑time APAC‑accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate in clinical psychology.
- Extensive clinical experience delivering family‑based interventions and therapeutic models for infants, children, adolescents (0–18 years) and their families.
- Excellent negotiation, decision‑making and advocacy skills, able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience providing clinical supervision and guiding others to service excellence.
- Initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Advanced skills in conducting acute/non‑acute assessments and risk management.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
- Current driver’s licence or willingness to travel as required.
