Forensic Mental Health Services:
The Tasmanian government provides comprehensive statewide forensic mental health services. This exciting opportunity is based in our Northern Community Forensic Mental Health Service, providing specialist psychiatric care to beautiful North and North-Western Tasmania.
Job Role:
* Perform consultant psychiatrist functions within the Northern Community Forensic Mental Health Service
Requirements:
* Extensive experience and skills in adult general psychiatry in various practice settings
* Training and/or experience in forensic (particularly correctional or criminal) psychiatry
* Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills and liaison experience with GPs
* Experience in clinical leadership and interpersonal issue resolution
* Ability to convey psychiatric knowledge effectively to staff, service providers, and patients
Working Conditions:
* Fixed term full time position with on-call work
* Up to 76 hours per fortnight
* Salary range: $210,000 - $301,349 per annum, pro-rata + 12% superannuation
* Motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum, pro-rata
* Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum, pro-rata
* Relocation and commencement support up to $15,000 for approved appointees
* Allowance in lieu of participating in private practice scheme 35% of base salary (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria:
* Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
Applicants should note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range is subject to satisfying specific criteria.
Additional Information:
* Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required
* This position involves regular on-call work which is divided equally between the medical workforce
Staff employed against this statement will be remunerated accordingly.
