Our Community Mental Health Team provides compassionate, recovery-oriented care to individuals and families across the Lake Macquarie area. The team culture is professional, inclusive, and supportive, with a strong focus on collaboration, learning, and holistic care.
About the role
As a Registered Nurse in our Community Mental Health Team, you'll provide person-centred, trauma-informed care to individuals living in the community. You'll work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and peer workers to deliver care that promotes recovery, empowerment, and well-being.
Your day may include conducting mental health assessments, developing recovery plans, engaging therapeutically with consumers and their families, and participating in outreach and care coordination initiatives. You'll also be supported through regular clinical supervision, education opportunities, and a workplace culture that prioritises professional development.
About you
You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about mental health care and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. You bring:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
A genuine interest or experience in mental health nursing
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Adaptability, empathy, and a commitment to recovery-focused practice
A desire to continue learning and growing your clinical expertise

This position is based within the Lake Macquarie Community Team, however an eligibility list will be created for the Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service which covers Newcastle, Port Stephens, and Lake Macquarie.
