We’re partnering with a well‑known Australian retail business currently looking to appoint a Head of Technology into a newly created leadership role.
This is a broad, hands‑on technology leadership opportunity suited to someone who enjoys operating across infrastructure, service delivery, security uplift, operational technology and vendor management within a lean, fast‑moving environment.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership to modernise and strengthen the business’s technology landscape while helping shape the next phase of operational and digital maturity.
The Role You’ll take ownership across:
* Technology operations, infrastructure and service delivery
* Security, risk and compliance uplift initiatives
* Vendor, MSP and technology partner management
* Operational technology and store/network environments
* Technology governance, process improvement and prioritisation
* Mentoring and developing a growing internal technology team
* Supporting broader modernisation and transformation initiatives
This is not a role where there are large specialist teams underneath you. The business needs someone commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable balancing strategic leadership with operational involvement when required.
Strong fit for people coming from:
* Head of Technology / IT Manager / Infrastructure leadership roles
* Lean or mid‑market environments where breadth of ownership is required
* Service delivery, infrastructure or operational technology backgrounds
* Multi‑site or distributed technology environments
* Businesses undergoing technology uplift or operational modernisation
Experience across the following will be highly regarded:
* Infrastructure and operational technology leadership
* Cyber/security risk management and uplift initiatives
* Vendor and MSP management
* Technology governance and operational improvementExecutive stakeholder management
* Team leadership and mentoring
Retail experience is helpful but not essential.
